Administrative Assistant Hendrix College is seeking a full-time, 10-month Administrative Assistant in Student Affairs. POSITION SUMMARY
The individual in this position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and serves the administrative needs of personnel from three offices: Advising and Academic Success, the Chaplain's Office, and Student Affairs. Primary responsibilities for this highly visible and collaborative position include:
- Serving as an often-initial point of contact for administrators, community members, faculty, staff, students, and their parents seeking information or support from the three offices.
- Managing routine office needs, including ordering supplies, retrieving mail, assisting in the preparation of annual reports, scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and updating webpages.
- Providing logistical support in the planning of campus events, lecture series, workshops, and continuing education opportunities.
- Assisting in budget processes, including financial reconciliations and reimbursements.
- Collecting, organizing and managing student data relevant to the work of the three offices.
- Helping with office communications to administrators, community members, faculty, staff, students, and their parents.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND
Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: At least two years of full-time work experience in administrative support, preferably in higher education.
Skills: Excellent organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; professional and friendly; self-motivated team player; experience with budgets and Microsoft 365 products; respectful of student privacy and confidential information; experience in event planning and with Jenzabar.
