Job Title: Attendance Secretary

Responsible to: Principal

Specific Duties:
  • Meet and greet the public/visitors
  • Answer the telephone
  • Answer the door bell
  • Making sure that monthly attendance is correct and ready for monthly reporting
  • Checking attendance on an hourly basis
  • Monitoring classrooms to be sure that attendance has been taken
  • Stamp student planners when students are absent
  • Call parents when students are absent
  • Collect homework for absent students at parents request
  • Print and mail attendance letters to parents and juvenile authorities
  • Enter student information into computer at the beginning of the school year
  • Delivering notes to students from parents
  • Calling students to the office when parents pick them up during the school day
  • Filing
  • Fill in for the nurse, when needed
  • Help other secretaries in the principal's office and guidance office as needed
