ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under the direction of the City Electrician and/or the Asst. City Electrician, assumes responsibility for all office administrative functions, including invoicing, data entry, typing, filing, ordering supplies, accounts receivables, accounts payable, personnel records, payroll and generating reports.
  • Receives and directs telephone calls.
  • Communicates via email and other methods with the public and other stakeholders for service request issues.
  • Shares information with department personnel.
  • Process's yearly invoicing regarding Master Fire Box connections.
  • Act as liaison between vendors and departments to ensure invoices are paid in timely manner.
  • May perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Two-year associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in payroll administration, budgeting, and data.
  • Should be familiar with general accounting principles, type a minimum of thirty words per minute and be experienced in Microsoft Office software (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • The City may require that the successful candidate take and pass a computer skills proficiency test in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel at hire or within 12 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, QuickBooks and See Click Fix applications most desirable.
  • Working knowledge of electric and telecommunication utility work and terminology preferred. B.A. in related field desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. General office environment with air conditioning and fluorescent lighting. Noise level can be high as the office is very active with many phone calls. Tools/equipment used include phone, personal computer, and printer, copy machine, fax machine.
