Licensing/Certification Requirements: Negative tuberculosis screen, Physical Exam, First Aid Certification, CPR Certification for Infants and Toddlers, Food Handlers Card, Criminal Background Check (Some of these may be obtained within first 30 days after hire) Environmental Factors/Working Conditions Enclosed facility May come in contact with bodily fluids and contagious diseases Will require walking on uneven surfaces Ability to pick up 25 pounds Continually able to do fine and medium hand manipulation Hours: Non-exempt hours, Typical 40 hours per week M-F, Specific hours will vary based on center needs.Education and Experience High School required, business courses preferred Business degree or equivalent a plus 1-2 years office experience or equivalent Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping Essential Competencies Excellent personal communication skills Exhibits strong customer service orientation Flexible schedule Has ability to work as a member of a team as both a leader and team member. Ability to comprehend, process, interpret, and carryout instructions spoken in the English language and written in a variety of documents and references relevant to the job Ability to write appropriate, intelligible, clear and understandable documents or reports Must have effective organization, problems solving skills Attention to detail and accuracyKEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA :Receptionist Takes and relay messages Process/screen, and directs incoming calls, visitors, families, vendors, service technicians Ensures knowledge of staff movements in and out of building Monitors visitors access and maintain security awareness. Organizes conference and multi-purpose room bookings. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA :Clerical Produces and distributes internal/external communication, which includes copying, faxing, and mailing. Schedules and coordinates meetings, events for center, maintains annual center calendar. Records, compiles, transcribes and distributes minutes of meetings as requested. Opens, sorts and distributes incoming correspondence and deliveries. Ensures that records are organized and assessable as necessary for designated staff. Files items KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA /Maintenance Handles distribution and inventory of office/health supplies for classrooms Ensures reception area is tidy KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA Attends and participates in training, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities Participates in the centers self-evaluation process and monitoring visits. Participates in general staff meetings and other meetings and events as requested. Works as a member of a team and fosters a cooperative working environment. Demonstrates flexibility on the job. Understand and uses the NAEYC Code of Ethics. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA Advancement Accepts and demonstrates JRELCs values and mission.
