Job Description
To assist the Principal in the overall organizational operations of the school from the monetary operations of the building.
Position Duties and Responsibilities: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
• Greet visitors in person and by telephone with a positive and helpful attitude
• Deliver messages to Principal, staff, and students as needed
• Responds to issues and concerns of students, parents, and staff in a manner which results in positive outcomes and reports serious concerns that need Principal attention
• Updates the School Dismissal Manager platform with daily student changes
• Assists with Frontline platform with staff time off
• Assists in the nurse's office when needed
• Books all Winter Activity and Field Trip buses
• Is a member of the Safety Committee
• Is a member of the Finance Committee
• Is a member of the Budget Committee
• Maintains petty cash
• Maintains the Student Activity Fund checkbook
• Does all BES banking with Mascoma Bank/Littleton which includes but not limited to oField Trips
oWinter Activities
o6th Grade Fundraiser
o6th Grade Graduation
• Assists in the annual budget build including procuring quotes and data entry
• Creates purchase orders
• Processes all invoices and submits to SAU for payment biweekly
• Organizes and orders office and school supplies
• Tracks copy paper & water - orders from WB Mason
This position is fulltime and is for 211 days per school year (203 working days & 8 paid holidays).
Job Requirements
Educational Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, with college preparatory classes in secretarial sciences preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Interest in and experience with children
• Knowledge and use of technology, including office software programs such as spreadsheets, database, word processing, graphic design and presentation software, email and web software
• Reflect a positive & helpful attitude when interacting with school community (students, staff, administration, parents, and the public)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals
• Able to work independently and problem solve
• Is flexible
• Able to work as a team
• Such alternatives to the above qualification as the Principal or the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable
