About the Organization
Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.

Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.

Location: Asheville

Pay: $21.00/Hour plus benefits

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7.5 hrs/day (Total 30 Hrs)

Position: Administrative Assistant - This position is responsible for filing, uploading documents answering phones, special projects, coordinating staff/client events, office management, general correspondence, providing staff support and managing schedules/calendars.

Qualities Needed: Ideal candidate will need to be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills. Should be proficient in computer knowledge/skills, be able to learn various platforms for day to day operations and have the ability to build positive relationships with others. Must possess ability to be a team player but also independent.

Full time positions at SCI are eligible for major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, earned PTO days, and a retirement plan.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma/GED, Valid NCDL, Clean Background check. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as with the general functions of Google WorkSpace. Must be able to multitask and able to schedule self accordingly. Must be able to confidently speak with the public, our staff, and our clientele by phone or in person. Must hold a high standard of professionalism. Must be punctual with tasks and attendance. Must be able to use office equipment efficiently and effectively
