Description Join our team at the Department of Ophthalmology and provide essential administrative support for the Retinal Disorders & Ophthalmic Genetics clinic in Westwood. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth patient care coordination.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Obtain authorizations for tests, injections, and office visits
- Process referrals
- Verify insurances
- Provide support in the patient check in/out and scheduling process
Salary Range: $25.60-36.33 Hourly
Qualifications We are looking for a friendly and organized candidate with
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of various insurance plans such as PPOs, HMOs, EPOs, Medicare and Medi-cal.
- Skill in establishing, coordinating and maintaining patient and administrative files.
- Skill in operating computer terminal for processing and accessing patient data.
- Ability to act as liaison between physician and patients and their families, using good verbal and written communication skills.
- Typing skills to prepare correspondence with speed/accuracy.
- Skill in writing grammatically correct routine medical and business correspondence.
- Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect relative importance of job responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and follow through with assignments with minimal (or no) direction from supervisor.
- Ability to coordinate activities to guarantee timely completion of teamwork (usually under high pressure).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
