JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs office work directly related to the property section and general business operations which can be complex in nature regarding the Mailroom and procedures. The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance, sometimes under stressful conditions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:
- The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
- The employee serves as the mailroom lead and is responsible for the Mail Center Certified Mailer Operations. The work demands highly accurate calculations of postage for USPS as well as Overnight Express companies. Responsible for the advisement of department staff in the correct postal procedures, FDOE internal policies and the preparation of business reply mailers.
- The employee is responsible for incoming and outgoing mail volume and recording the number of pieces of outgoing mail. Receives, sorts, and delivers incoming mail requiring the use of a motor vehicle for pickup/deliveries outside the building in which the Mail Services Center is located. Will assist with delivering and picking up mail in the Turlington Building.
- Operates and maintains all mailing equipment located in the Mail Services Center.
- The employee assists with the daily entry of building work orders. Conducts routine building maintenance inspections and tracks completion of maintenance issues. Employee provide quarterly data collection reports on all work orders entered and will provide trend analysis for management review. Employee will assist with the coordination between the department and DMS staff to resolve problems relating to department building issues.
- The employee assists with FLEET management. Performs routine service of General Service vehicles and Bi-annual vehicle inspections.
- The employee assists with Lead conference room coordinator with support for 17th-floor conference rooms.
- The employee assists General Services Property section with cubicle repair.
- The employee will research and respond within specific timelines to special operational projects assigned by the bureau chief's office and property and operations director. Projects must be completed within established timeframes and accurately address the issue or concern of the requests.
- Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of administrative and office principles and practices.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of postal rates, regulations, mailing equipment and customer needs
- Ability to operate USPS mailing machines and the software solutions and be able to adjust to changes that may occur.
- Valid Florida Driver License
