AboutOzark Campus:

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is the regional provider for technicaland career education, offering more than 25 programs with a variety of industryspecific options, as well as certificates of proficiency, technicalcertificates, associate degrees and general education coursework. The OzarkCampus is located on I-40 between Fort Smith and Russellville, Arkansas, in thecity of Ozark. The campus, which is more than 26 acres and includes a half-mileexercise path and disc golf course, is located along Arkansas Highway 23 Northin Ozark, Arkansas. The city of Ozark, with a population of approximately3,500, is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and surrounded to thenorth by the Ozark National Forest and to the south by the Ouachita NationalForest. Located to the west of Ozark is the city of Fort Smith, a commercialand industrial center for western Arkansas. Russellville, home to Arkansas TechUniversity's main campus and an area of vigorous industrial development, islocated to the southeast of Ozark on Interstate 40.

Position Review:
The Administrative Specialist III is a position responsiblefor coordinating office activities, researching and preparing special reports,and developing, revising, and recommending administrative policies andprocedures as directed by supervisor. This position is governed by state andfederal laws and institution policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Researches and analyzes data pertinent to workprograms and/or agency/institution goals and objectives and prepares reportsexplaining findings and recommendations. Assists in developing or revisingpolicies, procedures, and directives based on research findings; submits tosupervisor for approval. Compiles financial information used by supervisor toformulate budget proposals and monitors expenditures to ensure optimumoperating efficiency. Reviews and answers or prepares correspondence relatingto agency/institution programs. Interprets agency administrative directives,policies, and procedures to ensure consistent application. Providesinformation, assistance, and clarifications to interested parties concerningagency/institution programs, policies, and procedures. Assists supervisor bymaintaining leave records, appointment calendar, and prioritizing incomingcorrespondence. May supervise a small to medium sized administrative supportstaff and evaluate the work performance of incumbents. Performs other duties asassigned.

Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices ofmathematics and statistics.
Knowledge of research and analysis techniques andmethods.
Knowledge of work-related subject area.
Knowledge of computers and software applications.
Ability to prepare, present, and review oral andwritten information and reports.
Ability to research and analyze related work programinformation.
Ability to develop, recommend, interpret, and applypolicies and procedures.
Ability to analyze financial records and preparereports.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work ofothers.

Minimum Education, Certification, orExperience Requirements:
The formal education equivalent of a high schooldiploma; plus, one year of specialized training in business management,business education, or a related field; plus, two years of experience in aspecialized or a related field applicable to work performed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Banner, Argos and AppXtender;
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite;
Experience working in higher education;
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret writtenmaterial and quantitative data to draw conclusions and make recommendationsbased on that data.

Work Location, Environment, and PhysicalDemands:
In anoffice environment in Ozark, Arkansas
Ability tosit or stand using a computer or standard office machines with multiple screensfor 8 hours.
Ability tonavigate around campus and campus buildings to attend meetings, including daysinvolving inclement weather.
Ability tolift up to 25 pounds
