Experience coordinating academic processes such as course scheduling, classroom assignments, textbook adoptions, teaching evaluations, and catalog updates.

Job Description:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant II to support three cross-disciplinary academic units: Women and Gender Studies, Communication Studies, and Leadership Studies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of these programs and contributes significantly to their communication, course coordination, and event planning efforts.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating course offerings, classroom scheduling, textbook adoptions, and teaching evaluations
  • Supporting academic catalog updates and assisting with hiring a small number of graduate assistants
  • Managing office tasks such as supply orders, responding to inquiries, and supporting faculty and committee meetings
  • Overseeing scholarship application processes and tracking student progress using university systems
  • Preparing and distributing quarterly newsletters, maintaining websites and social media, and supervising student workers who assist with communication tasks
  • Planning and coordinating student and alumni events, including managing logistics such as space reservations and catering
  • Assisting with faculty searches and working closely with a student services coordinator on shared responsibilities
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative academic environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient with computer programs, including Microsoft Office.

• May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
