Are you seeking to put your talents and skills to use to help support our community? Or perhaps you have a desire to learn something new? Nevada County's Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Administration is seeking a new member for our team.

This Administrative Assistant's primary responsibility will be supporting our office.
  • Assist Agency HR Representative with core functions including onboarding new staff members, leave tracking, and payroll reports.
  • Assist with submission of staffing requisitions, creation of job fliers, and tracking of Agency vacancies.
  • Provide general administrative support by answering public calls to HHSA main phone line, sorting mail and correspondence, and posting notices and taking minutes for public meetings as needed.

Education and Experience Required

Equivalent to two years of college-level course work from an accredited college or university, with classes in public administration, political science, business administration, economics, or a related field and one year of responsible experience in office management, administrative analysis, personnel management, budgetary analysis, or accounting. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Retirement
The County is a member of the CalPERS retirement system and also provides the opportunity for voluntary contributions to a 457 deferred compensation account through Nationwide by way of pre-tax and Roth payroll deductions.
