Job Summary

The candidate in this position serves as receptionist for the extension office. Types and process reports and other documents as requested by the Extension Administrator and/or the Assistant Administrators.

Essential Job Duties
  • Serves as receptionist for the extension office.
  • Types and process reports and other documents as requested by the Extension Administrator and/or the Assistant Administrators.
  • Composes, types, and disseminates correspondence, reports and other materials as requested.
  • Maintains files and records as they relate to extension.
  • Assists with processing of county travel reports as well as other vouchers for payment.
  • Keeps abreast of pertinent extension's general operations as well as the university's policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and arrange appointments for the Extension Administrators and/or Assistant Administrators and/or other extension personnel upon request.
  • Makes travel arrangements for the Extension Administrator, Assistant Administrators, and/or other extension personnel upon request.
  • Orders and distributes supplies and equipment to extension personnel.
  • Receives, routes, and processes county reports and other materials to appropriate personnel.
  • Traces backorders for equipment and supplies ordered.
  • Maintains county personnel leave record.
  • Serves on the registration team for extension conferences, workshops, seminars, trainings, and/or programs
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Extension Administrator, Executive Assistant, and/or Assistant Administrators.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience in Cooperative Extension.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to walk short distances
  • Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
  • Ability to view a computer terminal
Skills and Attributes
  • Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
