About the Position The Member Liaison Specialist (Behavioral Health) will be responsible for assisting Medi-Cal and OneCare and members with behavioral health care management needs in a call center environment, which includes but is not limited to, securing behavioral health appointments for members, following up with members before and after the initial appointment, providing members with information and referring to community resources and assisting member in navigating the behavioral health system of care. The incumbent will act as a consultative liaison to assist members, behavioral health providers, health networks and community agencies to coordinate behavioral health services. The incumbent will also participate in various behavioral health initiatives and projects in support of the Behavioral Health Integration Department.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Participates in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
- Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
- Provides members with short-term care management support and securing behavioral health services appointments.
- Coordinates member's behavioral health needs both within and outside of CalOptima Health to ensure the coordination of member's care.
- Collaborates and communicates with the member and/or caregiver and behavioral health network providers to support successful linkage to behavioral health services.
- Develops and maintains a network of current community resources and services where members can be referred to for assistance.
- Maintains documentation of member cases within the Medical Management System.
- Initiates referrals to both internal and external care management departments and other government agencies.
- Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
Experience & Education: - High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience in behavioral health community service or other social service setting required.
- Have access to an approved means of transportation for work away from the primary office approximately 5% of the time required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above is also qualifying.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health or related field.
- Health maintenance organization (HMO), Medi-Cal, Medicare and health services experience.
- Bilingual in English and in one of CalOptima Health's defined threshold languages (Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese).

- Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee may be required to move about the organization and to travel to offsite locations. Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time, as well as work at the computer for long periods. Employee is required to use hands and fingers, especially for typing on the computer and using the mouse. Must also be able to reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift office supply boxes or laptop case while traveling, up to 25 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate, particularly for regular phone use, in meetings, face-to-face interaction and while presenting. Occasional travel to off-site locations is required.
- Work Environment: Must be able to focus and function in a high pace typical office environment with minimal to moderate noise levels and controlled office temperatures.

Qualifications: Essential Functions - Help administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Helps provide technical assistance on the project, interprets contract drawings and submittals
- Assist assistant superintendent, project superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly tasks including daily reports, daily safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and weekly schedule updates
- Understand the project schedule and the critical path
- Review content for the short-term plan
- Participate in the quality program including attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials
