DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Administrative Assistant 2 you will provide complex and specific confidential administrative assistance with day-to-day office management details for the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director for our Office of Administration. Your responsibilities will involve exercising a high order of initiative and relieving the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director of details when feasible and desirable. This includes implementing directives, decisions, and policies through discussions, meetings and general circulation of pertinent information. You will also communicate their implementation (or lack of it) to the Deputy Director or Assistant Deputy Director. Managing the Deputy's and Assistant Deputy's direct and indirect clerical support and serving as a high-level administrative liaison with public, private, and governmental contacts are other key aspects of this role. You will be expected to coordinate administrative matters with various functionaries of county and state political bodies, departments, the system's providers, internal staff, and the public.

Applying your working knowledge of administrative and program requirements to assist the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Director will build upon comprehending program goals, objectives, and operations in gathering, assembling, correlating and analyzing information to identify and relate specific data and problem solutions for the Deputy Director or Assistant Deputy Director. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
