Central Procurement Enterprise in
Des Moines, Iowa. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in managing the State of Iowa's Purchasing Card (PCard) Program and providing essential support to the Central Procurement team.
What You'll Do In this multifaceted role, you'll support both the PCard Program and general Central Procurement operations, helping to ensure smooth processes and exceptional service to state agencies and vendors alike.
PCard Program Responsibilities - Program Operations: Manage the daily operations of the PCard Program statewide. You'll be issuing, suspending, or canceling cards, and managing transaction and monthly limits in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor PCard usage for compliance with laws, rules, and internal policies. Use data and analytics to flag and follow up on high-risk transactions.
- Customer Support: Act as the go-to resource for cardholders-troubleshooting account issues, answering program-related questions, and supporting training efforts.
Central Procurement Support - Vendor & Agency Communication: Assist with procurement-related requests, help maintain accurate vendor records, and collaborate with staff to coordinate necessary updates.
- Office Administration: Manage office supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and website updates. Keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
- Contract Administration: Maintain and update contract records, including uploading documentation, tracking insurance certificates, and ensuring data is complete and accurate.

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in any field, and experience equal to one year of full-time administrative support (e.g., screening visitors and callers; opening/distributing mail, typing/proofing documents, letters, and reports; organizing files; scheduling meetings/appointments; arranging travel; processing travel claims; ordering supplies/equipment) or technical support work (e.g., determining budget, personnel, and equipment needs; compiling/evaluating statistical, historical, economic, business, financial or technical program data; interpreting or securing compliance with laws, rules and regulations; reviewing operating records/reports and evaluating their effectiveness).
- A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one) where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
- Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 12 months of full-time work as an Administrative Assistant 1.
