THE POSITION

If so, Westmoreland County Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (BHDS) is seeking an ambitious Administrative Assistant 1 who possesses excellent communication skills to provide valuable clerical and administrative support to the Developmental Services Department for the processing of intakes for waivers and services. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will work closely with the Intake and Eligibility Director and participate in a wide-range of clerical functions through the intake processing of various waivers and services. Due to the nature of tasks for this position, strict confidentiality is expected to be maintained. Excellent communication skills are vital in order to contact vendors as necessary and collaborate with government agencies and external providers. You will also be responsible for scheduling and attending meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and maintaining departmental documents. This professional assists with data collection and analysis for assigned projects which may include quality and compliance reviews. You will also have the opportunity to attend various tabling events to bring awareness to the community about intellectual disability (ID) services and speak with community members regarding the intake and waiver eligibility process.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Occasional need to work or attend meetings after hours or on weekends. Compensation will be provided.
  • This position will require remote and field work.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week, upon successful completion of the 6 month probationary period and submission of a county application for telework. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
