Under the direction of the Department Director/Deputy, performs all duties related to the data entry and proofing of various election-related documents, scanning election materials, processing vote-by-mail ballots, recruiting Election Day officials, training of Election Day officials, monitoring social media, assisting the public with the voting process and general questions regarding elections. This position also requires great customer service skills as well as respectful telephone etiquette.
Hours: 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime hours required as needed including evenings, weekends and holidays
Duties/Responsibilities

• Conducts business in accordance with federal election guidelines, the Ohio Revised Code, Policies and Procedures of the State of Ohio, HAVA and NVRA and the Greene County Board of Elections;

• Performs data entry tasks relative to all Board of Elections operations including maintaining the EVIS software database as it relates to voter registration and the vote-by-mail process;

• Proofs various election related documents for content and accuracy such as ballots, poll books, vote-by-mail identification envelopes, petitions and various reports;

• Reviews, researches, verifies, organizes and completes all necessary tasks associated with voter transactions such as provisional and vote-by-mail ballots, voter history and state and local petitions;

• Assists the public with the early voting process located at the Board of Elections;

• Provides excellent customer service to the public in person and on the telephone;

• Assists in the recruitment, scheduling of training and payroll processing for the precinct election officials, voting location managers and other election day officials;

• Assists with equipment preparation, maintenance and logic and accuracy testing;

• Training and recruitment of large numbers of Election Staff;

• Assists with phone banks and providing support to polling locations on election day;

• Assists with processing information requests;

• Assists in safeguarding sensitive documents and supplies;

• Attends continuing education and training as required;

• Performs all other duties assigned, delegated or required of the position as well as those prescribed by law.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; must be able to read and speak the English language; possess good communication skills; demonstrate exceptional proofreading skills; six months of data entry and customer service work experience preferred; must be able to lift 40 lbs.; must demonstrate command of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook; must be a registered Republican voter of Ohio and have Republican party affiliation based on voting history.

This position is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as amended relative to overtime compensation.
This position meets the definition of "election officer" or "election official" as defined by 3501.01(U) of the Ohio Revised Code and is considered unclassified per 124.11(A)(2) of the Ohio Revised Code.
