Shin-Etsu Silicones of America, Inc. (SESA) is looking to hire a temporary part time Administrative Assistant to help with a variety of related tasks and projects within the Health and Safety department. This position will consist of 20-29 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Review policies and procedures for formatting and grammatical errors. Suggest updates as it relates to SESA and industry regulations and practices.
  • Research and remain up-to-date on current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Suggest updates to processes and procedures.
  • Walk the production floor to familiarize self on how policies are executed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education & Experience:

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or closely related field; or be currently enrolled and working towards a degree is preferred.

Experience or exposure in a manufacturing environment (preferably in chemicals) is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Computer literate working with Microsoft Office products.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to take direction and to carry out instructions from the Supervisor in an orderly and efficient manner.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capable of proactive approach to identify and eliminate potential problem areas.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups and be self-motivated in both settings.
  • Ability to manage time in an efficient and effective manner.
