Position Summary
The Department of Psychology is seeking a motivated, self-directed candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our high performing-dynamic team as an Administrative Assistant 3. This position is the first point of contact for the department and is a critical part of the department's engagement. The individual selected for this position will provide administrative support for our faculty, staff, and students in a dynamic environment and must be comfortable responding to a variety of administrative and academic issues. The candidate must be flexible and adaptive to a variety of customers, and responsive to needs of all visitors.
The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates attention to detail, comfortable asking questions and exploring answers, works well independently and in a team, as well as takes pride in the quality of their work. Duties will include participation in hiring student employees. Help manage the operations of the AV/Copy room. Supervises the AV/Copy room students, copy user code reporting, office supplies inventory, planning departmental events. Lead point of contact for issuing keys, subject parking and assisting with Prox card access, building maintenance and data entry. Managing department physical mail and email and listserve(s) and assisting with special projects to support the department administrator and Chair, as needed.

Conditions of Employment
- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work M-F, 8-5 (with a 1 hour lunch)
- Must have strong organization and time management skills
- Must maintain professional attitude and appearance
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented - able to Demonstrate attention to detail and quality of work and following-through
- Must be able to work in a busy environment and with a diverse group of people
- Supervision experience a plus
- Scheduling appointments utilizing an electronic calendar system
- Experience with data entry into Excel, Access database, and word documents.
- Previous experience with UNM systems, UNM Email, MYUNM, UNM Listserve, Schedule of classes, etc.
- Experience working with a shared drive, OneDrive/SharePoint
