Position Summary
MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Teaching courses as assigned by the CollegeAvailable to teach daytime, evening, and weekend classes, as neededAvailable for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email or special appointment if necessaryParticipate with producing documentation relating to program accreditation standards to achieve and maintain accreditationWork cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellenceKeep appraised of external agency regulations and changes to regulations that directly impact a particular curriculumAssess student learning and participate in assessment of the PTA programContinue professional development in area of contemporary clinical expertise and in teaching/learning strategiesMaintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college and grant purposes in a timely fashionMaintain and submit accurate attendance records.Required Qualifications
Current licensure (or eligibility) in Illinois as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)If a Physical Therapist Assistant, earned an associate degree from a regionally accredited institutionIf a Physical Therapist, earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institutionMinimum of two (2) years of full-time (35 hr./wk. or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skillsWillingness to use educational technology (i.e. Canvas)Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affect clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy Contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas (CAPTE 3C & 4D) Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, especially regarding contemporary expertise specific to assigned teaching content Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning stylesStrong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skillsEqual Employment Opportunity
