Responsibilities:Job Summary:The Adjunct Instructor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing instruction for students enrolled in courses within the designated department at Lamar State College Orange, including multiple site location options and dual credit high school students. Adjunct Instructors must be qualified and competent to teach applicable courses within the degree and certificate programs - requirements vary. Hours vary depending on the need and course schedule and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes, including online. Flexible scheduling and online work arrangements are available (depending upon course type and configuration). Available campus locations include Orange, Lumberton, Dual Credit (at a high school), Polk County Center in Livingston, San Marcos, Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD), and online. This is an exempt position. LSCO's departments and programs include:

Duties and Responsibilities:- Teach courses at the designated campus as scheduled and actively engage with students in the learning process
- Provide feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Complete required training, such as Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training, etc.
- Take advantage of the professional development opportunities offered by The State Colleges and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) Faculty Development Trainings to continually refine and improve professional knowledge and teaching skills
- Adhere to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS Rules and Regulations and State Colleges' Policies and Procedures Manuals
- Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- Education commensurate with the specific instructional assignment is required
- Qualifications commensurate with the specific instructional assignment are required
- For technical programs, pertinent job experience outlined in the minimum faculty credential standards is required.
Preferred Qualifications:- College teaching experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Salary:$50 per instructional equivalent hour
