Apparel Product Development Instructor

2025 Spring Semester - in person
Class is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30 pm.

Position Overview:
Lasell University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach one section of Apparel Product Development, for the Spring semester. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a strong background in the Fashion Industry, including experience in Product Development. Other industry experience in Trend Forecasting, Allocation, Sourcing, Fashion Design, Wholesale account management, or Supply Chain Management is welcome. The candidate should also have excitement and passion for educating, challenging, and supporting future fashion professionals.

Course Description

Apparel Product Development explores the global product development matrix in the apparel industry. Students work together in teams to explore the product lifecycle in terms of sourcing and production. Topics covered include: supply chain management, design calendars, apparel product price points, brand differentiation, product distribution channels, trend forecasting services, color management, specification and technical package development, sizing, quality control, ethics, and evaluation of the global production environment. Prerequisite: FASH211 or FASD220

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree

• Minimum of 5+ years industry experience

• Demonstrated ability to connect, excite and educate

• Previous teaching experience preferred

• Familiarity with current trends in the apparel industry

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience in facilitating discussions and encouraging student participation
