HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES DEPARTMENT POSITION PURPOSE: To ensure a robust teacher evaluation system that complies with all state guidelines and regulations and supports the improvement of teaching throughout the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • To ensure a robust teacher evaluation system that complies with all state guidelines and regulations and supports the improvement of teaching throughout the district.
  • Supervision of (3) district lead mentors and their related activities to provide support, target individual professional growth needs, and professional development of Induction I & II contract level teachers district-wide.
  • Ensures compliance with State and District regulations and timelines.
  • Provide ADEPT evaluator training to all eligible, recommended certified personnel in an effort to establish and maintain an adequate pool of certified teacher evaluators.
  • Responsible for oversight of ADEPT assistance and evaluation processes for teachers at each contract level.
  • Supports the work of ADEPT evaluation teams, principals and appointed ADEPT liaisons in the teacher evaluation processes.
  • Supervises the process of getting necessary staff "Highly Qualified".
  • Collect data, prepare reports and submit required information to the SC Department of Education (SCDE).
  • To work collaboratively with the Director of Personnel to resolve any ADEPT related certification issues.
  • To collaborate with and relay all pertinent ADEPT related information, practices and updates to the locally district sponsored charter school, River View Charter to help ensure proper implementation of the ADEPT System for teacher certification purposes.
  • Participate as a member of the SCDE's Teacher Evaluation Advisory Team to provide insight and guidance related to revision and implementation of the state's teacher evaluation system in accordance with its ESEA agreement.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Administrative and Human Resources Services Officer, Superintendent or his designee.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Administrative and Human Resources Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator designated by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must hold or be eligible for a South Carolina Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university required; master's degree preferred
  • Needs to become trained as an ADEPT trainer.
EXPERIENCE:
  • At least two years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience as an effective ADEPT TEAM evaluator.
  • School-based administrative experience preferred.
