Education Required: Master's Degree in Social Work, psychology, counseling, or related behavioral health field Experience Required: One year previous experience in clinical setting working with substance use disorders patients Skills Fundamental knowledge of addictions, community support systems, and varying treatment philosophies, combined with ability to teach and impart knowledge to others. Exceptional communication, and patient advocacy skills and approach. Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: Current Licensure as a Social Worker LCSW , Licensed Professional Counselor LPC , Psychologist PHD or provisional license with completed degree requirements of the previous. Preferred: Certification with State of Missouri as an Addictions Counselor. Position Competencies: Competencies are essential skills needed to be successful in a position. These competencies are required to help the department maintain a high level of productivity and success. Each competency will be evaluated by observation. Performs assessment and data collection functions, formulates a goal directed plan of care, and implements such care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner, by utilization of/adherence to pre- determined standards that define the structure, process and desired patient outcomes. Completes all necessary and defined documentation to reflect this process in a timely manner, and makes available in the patient file as per program policy. Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professional care givers, both contributing to and utilizing the input of, those team members in the routine provision of services to prescribed patients. Routinely conducts all scheduled educational and therapy groups with designated patient population and documents as per program policy. Maintains exceptional communication with all external sources connected to the patient's treatment including family, employers, referring healthcare givers, etc., documenting as appropriate to ensure continuity of care and the support necessary to achieve exceptional patient outcomes. Assumes personal responsibility for contributing to the financial viability of the program by evidencing insight into the linkage between documentation and reimbursement and consistently completes requirements in timely and thorough manner. Maintains a level of personal demeanor that positively contributes to the overall program atmosphere, is inspiring to patients, and promotes the program and organization as the "BEST ENVIRONMENT" to receive care.
