We are currently looking to fill a Part Time Activity position to join our team and make a diference in the lives of our residents.

Position Summary:

Assisting the Activity Director in the execution of an exceptional and on-going calendar of events for our residents, this candidate carries out a program of life enrichment activities which provide opportunities for entertainment, socialization, and engagement, as well as excellent guest relations and services for residents in our Skilled Nursing and Sub-Acute settings

Duties include:
  • Initiate and promote activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of each resident, while engaging residents in daily leisure activities of their choice following organized timelines
  • Conduct and execute indoor and outdoor activity programs
  • Assists residents with non-clinical personal needs which may include feeding assistance
  • Ability to assess and evaluate overall participant level of functioning to determine appropriate activities and adaptations
  • Takes initiative in developing meaningful, supportive relationships with residents

• Consistently maintain standards for activity scheduling and documentation established by policies and regulatory requirements.

• Solicit the involvement of the community (clubs, groups, organizations, agencies, churches, individuals, etc.) when planning facility activities and events.
  • Cleans departmental equipment and organizes supplies, taking initiative to organize and clean other areas when needed.

• Maintains records of activity programs and participation of individual residents, identifying progress toward established care plan goals.

• Attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on need of department.

Qualifications:
  • Patience and compassion for the elderly, as well as working with individuals who have cognitive, physical or sensory challenges.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with a high level of energy and enthusiasm

Requirements:
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, every other weekend, rotating holidays or during emergency situations and when other coverage cannot be arranged
  • Experience in activities and with Alzheimer's residents is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Full vaccination including booster (as eligible) required or receive an exemption prior to employment.
