Activities Assistant The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Activities Director in planning, organizing, developing, and facilitating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual activities and programs designed to enrich the lives of residents in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator. Assuring that on-going activities are designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Responsibilities: Operating within Ashford Hall's established activities and life enrichment policies and processes, the Activities Assistant will:
- Facilitate and run daily scheduled activities with residents, in groups and/or individually.
- Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and resident progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting and charting resident behavior.
- Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
- Interview and involve residents and family members in planning activity programs when possible.
- Coordinate activities and events with other departments and staff as needed.
- Ensure that all activities on behalf of Ashford Hall are conducted in accordance to all applicable State and Federal rules, regulations, guidelines, and laws.
- Other duties and functions as may be required.

- Ability to interact and socialize with residents and family members at all levels of engagement
- Outstanding customer service skills
Education: - A high school graduate or GED equivalent is required.
Experience: - Minimum 1 year experience as an Activities Assistant in a skilled nursing/long-term care facility required.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a Memory Care setting in a skilled nursing/long-term care facility required.
Job Type: - Full-Time / Non-Exempt (Hourly)
- 8-hour shifts, Mon-Fri or Tue-Sat
