Position Overview:

As an Activities Assistant, you will be a vital part of this mission infusing energy, creativity, and compassion into the daily lives of our residents. This role offers more than just a job, it's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, spark joy, and make a lasting impact on the well-being of older adults.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or some college coursework preferred
  • Recent experience in a geriatric activity setting or nursing home preferred
  • Certification as an Activities Professional, per state and federal regulations, preferred
  • Prior training and experience with dementia care is highly desirable
  • Strong team orientation and a genuine interest in working with older adults
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Organize and lead meaningful activities that promote social, physical, and emotional well-being for residents.
  • Support residents in participating by providing encouragement and assistance with transportation as needed.
  • Build relationships through one-on-one visits and group engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation, noting any changes in resident behavior or needs.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and clean environment in all activity areas.
  • Communicate regularly with residents, families, and staff about scheduled programs and special events.
  • Help manage supplies and decorations to keep spaces engaging and cheerful.
  • Supervise volunteers and assist with onboarding as needed.
  • Assist with other duties that support the overall well-being of residents and the community.
