1) POSITION: Full-Time Activities Assistant We are looking for a full-time activities assistant to plan and implement a person-centered engagement program for our 8 wonderful residents. The hours are Mon-Fri, 12pm-8pm and PRN as needed. Although the main focus of this position is resident engagement, the candidate will also need to assist with food service and resident care during the shift as needed. As we are licensed for a maximum of only 8 residents, this is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to really embrace the interests and needs of our residents and make a positive impact in their lives.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Plans, develops, and implements activities to engage residents one-on-one and in small and large groups
- Creates the monthly calendar using our Activity Connection software
- Helps plan and decorate the home for holidays and special events
- Coordinates volunteers and performers
- Provides feedback and addresses concerns from family members
- Documents resident participation and refusals. Seeks ways to encourage more resident involvement.
- Takes photos and assists with social media and marketing
- Helps caregiver on shift with food service and resident care as needed
Qualifications: - Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Activities Assistant in a long-term care facility or related experience is preferred
- Experience with memory care
- Virginia PCA or CNA license preferred; will sponsor PCA training for the right candidate
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
