Job Summary for the Active Directory Administrator:

Independent Stave Company's Information Technology is seeking a skilled and motivated Active Directory Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of our systems. You will work closely with other IT team members to support our 1,000 users across multiple locations. Additionally, you may be required to perform other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities for the Active Directory Administrator
  • Manage and maintain the Active Directory infrastructure, including user accounts, groups, and permissions.
  • Monitor and optimize AD performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage Group Policies (GPOs) to enforce security and operational standards.
  • Provide support for domain controllers, DNS, DHCP, DFSR and related services.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to support authentication, access control, and identity management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory and associated services.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including regular audits and updates.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Active Directory migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Document and maintain Active Directory configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Provide user support and training as needed.
Qualifications for the Active Directory Administrator
  • 3+ years of experience in Active Directory administration and management.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with multi-site AD infrastructure and replication.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management principles, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory and hybrid environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Understanding of security best practices related to Active Directory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, MCSA, etc.) are preferred.
Availability
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support and emergency response.
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel to remote locations within the company's network of manufacturing sites.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment as needed.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including data centers and manufacturing floors.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
