Acquisition Analyst II / Small Business Professional Location: Springfield, VA (On-site at Government Customer Location)

Polaris is seeking a mission-focused Acquisition Analyst II to support the Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). In this role, you'll execute targeted acquisition support tasks while leading the charge on outreach, vendor engagement, and process improvement. As part of a close-knit OSBP team-you'll be empowered to think critically, work independently, and help shape the federal small business landscape. Anticipated Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000. This range represents Polaris' good faith estimate of the salary for this position, based on the role's location, scope of responsibilities, and market benchmarks. Final compensation will be determined at the time of offer and may vary depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's relevant education, certifications, years of experience, specialized skills, and internal equity considerations. Key Responsibilities Small Business Advocacy & Engagement Lead and support strategic outreach efforts, including planning 6-8 external events per year and 2-3 internal virtual events.
Coordinate shipments, register participants, and manage travel logistics for conferences, industry events, and stakeholder meetings.
Create and print outreach materials, including capability flyers, program overviews, and conference handouts.
Monitor and respond to inquiries in the OSBP workflow mailbox, routing emails and taking appropriate action.
Manage and maintain the OSBP outreach calendar and schedule industry engagement meetings for the OSBP Director.
Administer, analyze, and maintain the Salesforce-based vetted vendor database to support vendor sourcing, tracking, and reporting.
Stay informed on updates to small business regulations, SBA guidance, and procurement policy; brief team as needed.
Acquisition Support Conduct market research using SAM.gov, FPDS, DSBS, and eSRS to identify small business candidates and justify set-aside decisions.
Review and provide corrective guidance on DD2579 forms and subcontracting plans prior to OSBP Director review.
Prepare and route 8(a) Offer Letters to the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Support documentation of acquisition strategy in collaboration with contracting officers and program teams.
Reporting & Analysis Generate and submit recurring reports such as the Small Business Achievement Report and the Acquisition Forecast.
Track outreach metrics, engagement data, and OSBP program performance indicators to support leadership briefings and annual reviews.
Qualifications Required: Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance (Secret may be considered)
5-7 years of acquisition or small business program support experience
Familiarity with small business categories (e.g., WOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone, SDB)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and government acquisition databases (SAM.gov, FPDS, eSRS, DSBS)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work independently
Ability to travel for out-of-state conferences and outreach events (6-8 per year)
Preferred: DAWIA or FAC-C acquisition training
Experience with Salesforce SaaS platforms
Background in event planning, logistics coordination, or external stakeholder engagement
Experience supporting acquisition programs in DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), or federal civilian agencies
