Job Title: Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager
Location: Lansing, MI

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead our AR team in Lansing, MI. The AR Manager will oversee all aspects of accounts receivable operations, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and accurate financial reporting. This role will collaborate with internal departments to optimize cash flow, reduce outstanding receivables, and maintain strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, collections, and cash applications.

  • Develop and implement AR policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency.

  • Monitor aging reports and proactively manage delinquent accounts to minimize risk.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AR team to enhance performance and productivity.

  • Work closely with finance and sales teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.

  • Prepare and analyze AR reports, providing insights on cash flow and outstanding balances.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in AR functions.

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment and dispute resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable management or a related role.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software (Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a similar industry.

  • Knowledge of credit risk assessment and collections strategies.

  • Familiarity with process automation and continuous improvement methodologies.
