Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our finance and accounting team. The AR Coordinator will be responsible for managing customer accounts, invoicing, and collections processes. This role will collaborate with internal teams and external customers to ensure accurate billing, timely payments, and resolution of account discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and timely.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Communicate with customers regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and collection efforts.
- Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts receivable ledger.
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes in collaboration with sales and customer service teams.
- Prepare AR reports and support month-end close activities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment agreements.
- Assist with credit application processing and credit limit evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls regarding the accounts receivable process.
- Support process improvement initiatives and automation efforts.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or related accounting functions.
- Experience with NetSuite is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and GAAP principles.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Retail, CPG, or Distribution industries is a plus.
