Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for performing daily, monthly, and annual accounts receivable processing tasks, ensuring accurate record retention, and supporting the financial operations of the organization. This role involves accounting for credit card payments, lockbox deposits, and performing various administrative tasks related to accounts receivable. The candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. This role is full-time and on-site in Richmond, VA, reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Investments. This position is Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record Truist Lockbox deposit reports for checks and credit card payments and assemble backup documents
  • Import and print batches for payments processed through Truist Lockbox, ACH, credit card, insurance, and hospital payments.
  • Update billing forms
  • Coordinate with printers and mailing services for the distribution of billing notices.
  • Contact medical schools and hospitals to update resident and physician lists.
  • Enter and post physician, hospital, and insurance transactions in billing database.
  • Import check, cash, and credit card receipts into accounting software.
  • Print daily deposit reports and create batches for credit card payments.
  • Process refunds on overpayments as needed.
  • Maintain and update physician, hospital, and insurance payment records in the billing database.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Some college preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in accounts receivable, general office/administrative work, or a related field is required.
