Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced A/R Staff Accountant with a background in the manufacturing industry to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the manufacturing order-to-cash cycle and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end close activities related to A/R, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and distribute regular A/R aging and collection reports to management.
  • Generate and process customer invoices in accordance with sales contracts, delivery documentation, and customer terms.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past due accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and customer billing issues.
  • Apply cash receipts accurately and timely to customer accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any unapplied payments or credits.
  • Maintain and update customer records in ERP/accounting system.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Shipping departments to resolve delivery or invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting procedures.
  • Assist in audits and provide supporting documentation for A/R-related queries.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in the A/R cycle.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of A/R processes, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
