Brodson Construction, Inc. is a boutique construction company with over 35 years of experience in general contracting and construction management in the high-end commercial, residential, hospitality, and retail arenas.


Brodson Construction is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented and Sage 300 proficient AP Specialist to join the accounting team. The accounts payable specialist manages the company's financial transactions, including vendor payments and expenses. They are responsible for ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately, and payments are made on time. Some tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Processing invoices: Verifying purchase orders, direct costs, or progress payments. Accurately and efficiently process accounts payable invoices via check and/or ACH.
  • Checking AIA invoices for discrepancies, change orders, balances & percentages of completion.
  • Communicating with vendors: Resolving any discrepancies or issues with vendors.
  • Preparing payments: Work in conjunction with Controller to get timely payments to vendors.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers or other departments to gather and analyze various financial data to ensure an organization's finances are in order.
  • Track expense reports, credit card purchases, and properly code credit card charges.
  • Monitoring expenses: Keeping a record of expenses for tax purposes.
  • Internal Protocol: Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls.
  • Track expense reports, credit card purchases, and properly code credit card charges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to create accurate reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close out documentation.
  • Proper paper and e-file organization skills for all financial records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience & 2+ years using Sage 300.
  • Strong communication skills in English. Spanish a plus.
  • Multi-tasker able to efficiently meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality.
  • Reliable transportation as light travel is possible between Miami and Miami Beach offices.
