Are you a recent college graduate holding a 4 year Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar area of study? My client in the Denver Tech Center is looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to their team and train from the ground up.


This software development company has been stable and growing since the late 90's with a great customer base and an unrivaled product. You'll have the opportunity to partner onsite with talented, collaborative, and friendly coworkers and learn skills like:


Invoice Processing & Data Entry

  • Process high-volume AP invoices with correct coding, authorization, and policy compliance.
  • Apply correct sales and use tax based on jurisdiction.
  • Perform three-way matching (PO, invoice, receipt) for accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, including payment and tax information.

Payments & Reconciliations

  • Manage EFT and ACH payments (domestic and international) with timely, accurate execution.
  • Reconcile credit card transactions in Concur and Excel; resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute check payments with proper documentation.
  • Perform monthly AP reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.

Vendor & Internal Communication

  • Act as the main contact for vendor inquiries, payment issues, and disputes.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Finance to resolve invoice/payment issues.
  • Deliver prompt, professional support to vendors and internal teams.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • File monthly sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Research and validate tax rates for invoice accuracy.
  • Prepare and issue annual 1099s per IRS regulations.

Process Improvement & Accounting Support

  • Identify and implement AP process improvements and automation.
  • Support internal audits and compliance efforts.
  • Assist Accounting and Admin teams with special projects and financial reporting.
