Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role:

Our non-profit client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support their property management division. This individual will manage day-to-day AP operations for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor payments, reconciliations, and support of internal controls. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that provides affordable housing and property services.
Yardi experience is highly preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Process vendor invoices for multiple properties, ensuring accurate GL coding and approval workflows

  • Manage weekly check runs, ACH payments, and vendor communication

  • Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with internal policies

  • Reconcile accounts payable ledger and resolve invoice discrepancies

  • Support property managers with invoice inquiries and budget alignment

  • Assist with month-end close by preparing AP reports and journal entries

  • Provide documentation for audits and ensure financial compliance

  • Partner with the accounting team to streamline AP processes across properties

  • Maintain W-9s and support annual 1099 filing process

Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience; property management or real estate accounting experience preferred

  • Experience with Yardi is a strong plus

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with accounting principles and AP best practices

  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
