Job DetailsPosition Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to lead and oversee our accounts payable operations. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of AP functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and external regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of AP processes, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor reconciliations
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of AP specialists or clerks
- Oversee month-end and year-end AP close processes, including accruals and reporting
- Maintain and improve internal controls over the AP process
- Partner with Procurement, Accounting, and Operations teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and streamline workflows
- Manage corporate credit card programs and employee expense reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and IRS 1099 reporting requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor relations and payment inquiries
- Support audits by providing requested documentation and reconciliations
- Continuously assess and improve AP systems, tools, and processes for greater efficiency and scalability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive AP experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and internal controls
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and AP automation tools
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with process improvement or system implementation is a plus
