Accounting System Engineer with Security Clearance

Coda Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Accounting System Engineer (SE3) to support a major business system within the Intelligence Community (IC). The ideal candidate will have a background in forensic accounting, financial systems, or a related field while also possessing strong systems engineering expertise. This individual will play a critical role in defining and managing core functional requirements for a complex business system, ensuring it aligns with both financial and engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development, documentation, and management of system requirements for a financial or accounting-based business system. Apply forensic accounting principles to analyze financial workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security requirements. Work closely with stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams to translate financial policies and procedures into system capabilities. Ensure system design adheres to systems engineering best practices, including traceability, validation, and verification of requirements. Provide risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to financial and accounting processes within the system. Support system architecture and design discussions, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise financial systems. Lead or contribute to functional testing, system audits, and performance evaluations to validate compliance with financial standards. Develop and present technical documentation, white papers, and reports to leadership and decision-makers. Required Qualifications: 20+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on requirements management, system development, and integration. Proven ability to plan and lead Systems Engineering efforts for large-scale programs. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, 25+ years of SE experience is required. Experience working with financial, accounting, or forensic auditing systems. Strong understanding of IC or DoD financial processes, compliance requirements, and business system architectures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leadership. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IC financial management policies and regulations. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Certified Forensic Accountant (Cr.FA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Knowledge of federal financial reporting requirements, cost estimation, and budget execution processes. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems used within government agencies. Expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, Jira). Why Join Coda Solutions?
