Job Details

Essential Duties:
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the Accounting Team to ensure an efficient workflow and accurate financial transaction processing.
  • Collaborate with outsourced partners handling accounting and credit/debit card functions to manage accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support audit processes.
  • Perform and review reconciliations of various general ledger accounts to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coach, train, and support Accounting Team members to foster professional growth and maintain high performance standards.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements and best practices within the accounting department.

Required Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Proven ability to ensure deadlines are met with minimal to zero errors, particularly errors that could result in financial loss.
  • Ability to proactively inform management of operational issues affecting the accounting team.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching staff to meet daily accounting and operational demands.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit union accounting.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an accounting function.
