Construction Accounting & Union Payroll Specialist

I'm working with a well-established mechanical contractor in the Twin Cities area that's looking to bring on an experienced Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support their growing team. This company has built a strong reputation in the commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and piping space-and they're known for treating their people well.

This is a full-time, on-site role handling union payroll, accounts receivable and collections, and job cost accounting. The team is solid, the systems are in place, and they're looking for someone who knows construction and can keep things running smoothly.

• Process weekly union payroll for field employees, ensuring compliance with union agreements.

  Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required.

• 
  

  Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.

• 
  

  Assist with job costing and project-based accounting tasks.

• 
  

  Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure accurate financial tracking.

• 
  

  Support monthly financial reporting and assist with month-end close processes.

• Proven experience in construction accounting, preferably within the mechanical contracting industry.

• 
  

  Familiarity with union payroll processing and certified payroll requirements.

• 
  

  Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, or Foundation.

• 
  

  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• 
  

  Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
