Accounting Manager, Treasury Operations


The Accounting Manager, Treasury Operations oversees treasury operations, cash accounting, cash management and investment accounting. The Treasury Manager prepares cash forecasts for the enterprise, ensures daily cash inflows and outflows are processed and recorded properly in the bank, internal systems, and general ledger and services as system administrator for various Treasury systems. In addition, this position is responsible for managing a team that handles operating treasury functions and investment accounting and reporting activity.

This is a key role within the organization. This individual will have direct visibility with members of the Enterprise's Executive Management team. The applicant must be highly motivated and have the aptitude to oversee projects that impact our business and financial results. The applicant for this position must be able to research and implement best practices across all disciplines. The applicant will be relied upon for continuous improvement towards a goal of operational excellence as a provider of service to internal and external customers.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of staff members.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Oversee quarterly intercompany settlements and intercompany capital activity.
  • Review and approve cash accounting journal entries and ledger account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and administer the Company's Treasury Management system and various banking portals.
  • Serve as the Chairperson of the PRC Capital Strategy Committee.
  • Approve daily Treasury payments.
  • Manage daily cash balances and funding needs for the Enterprise.
  • Enterprise cash forecasting and review.
  • Prepare and analyze bank fee budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage the Company's Intercompany Lending and Cash Pooling program.
  • Review and approve investment accounting journal entries.
  • Prepare and review investment schedules and footnotes for GAAP and STAT financials.
  • Oversee and implement current and future systems.
  • Interact with other departments regarding system changes.
  • Oversee development of accounting operations metrics.
  • Oversee and implement financial operations projects.
  • Perform other duties to ensure team goals are met.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university; and five to ten years related experience.
  • Insurance industry experience required.
  • CTP Designation is preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including systems conversions, electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Experience with Workday Financials, Clearwater Analytics and Treasury Management systems is preferred.
