Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our accounting department. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, developing internal controls, managing month-end and year-end close processes, and leading a team of accountants. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent leadership qualities, and a thorough knowledge of GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Develop and implement internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • CPA certification.
  • Experience in industry-specific experience, if applicable .
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial automation tools.
