Job DetailsWe are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead financial operations at our manufacturing plant. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and compliance. The Accounting Manager will work closely with leadership, headquarters, and other business units to provide financial insights that drive decision-making. Additionally, this position supervises Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Support internal and external audits, tax filings, and intercompany account reconciliation.
- Ensure timely financial reporting in alignment with company policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance.
- Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to ensure consistency in financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget variances and provide insights to optimize cost control.
- Partner with department heads to enhance financial planning and performance.-
Oversee and support AP and AR functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage cash flow, credit terms, and outstanding receivables.
- Ensure proper expense reporting and invoice processing.
- Utilize ERP systems for financial processes, reporting, and analysis.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Serve as the finance point of contact for system-related matters.
- Manage, mentor, and develop AP and AR team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of experience as a lead accountant or accounting manager in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel).
- ERP proficiency (SAP a nice plus)
- Proven ability to lead and work within a cross-functional plant management team
