Accounting Manager Overview: As the Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of the Accounting team leading a staff of 4-5 and reporting to the VP, Assistant Controller. This Accounting Manager will oversee the financial functions of the company, and mentor their team with a servant leadership mindset. The successful person will have experience in accounting/financial leadership within a bank or credit union. They will also have a track record of mentoring and developing staff, and the ability to partner with leadership on key decisions.

Key Responsibilities for Accounting Manager:

  • Oversight of month end close, reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies to support company goals
  • Mentor and develop the skills of the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
  • Assess and improve internal controls, processes, and procedures to enhance overall financial performance
  • Partner with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Play a key role in special projects, providing financial expertise and contributing to the overall success of the organization

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting plus 1+ year of leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
