About the Role:

As a CBRE Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing key accounting close and reporting activities of the organization's Americas Region. You will be expected to manage and communicate the monthly close and reporting expectations, coordination with regional accounting, business finance, and shared services organizations, and ensuring the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of key close activities. The ideal candidate is a proven manager that has a balanced mix of public accounting background and experience in a large global matrixed organization.

What You'll Do:

•   Manage the accounting close and reporting activities of the Americas Region which includes coordinating with accounting and business finance teams throughout the region.
•   Maintain, communicate and monitor a calendar of key accounting and reporting deadlines and deliverables for the region.
•   Work with the controllers of each business line to ensure the timely closing of the regional legal entity ledgers and their submission to the global consolidations tool.
•   Establish regional meetings and other touchpoints to plan for approaching deadlines and address specific issues or exceptions timely.
•   Ensure that standard accounting policies, practices, and procedures are being utilized and applied within the Corporate segment.
•   Monitor and enhance monthly close process, including analysis of current corporate close activities and opportunities for improvement; participates in the implementation of operating procedures to improve efficiency.
•   Contribute to key accounting projects and deliverables to ensure reporting accuracy and that departmental deadlines are met.
•   Act as primary/secondary contact with the organization's internal and external auditors on regional accounting matters.
•   Interpret current accounting guidance and policies; coordinate with the technical accounting and policy teams to ensure the appropriate regional implementation of applicable policies and procedures.
•   Lead by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
•   Provide technical advice and training on accounting systems to staff.
•   Ensure that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations.
•   Maintain accounting processes and procedures which comply with generally accepted accounting principles, tax requirements, SEC requirements, and management reporting requirements.

•   Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
•   5+ years experience in public and/or private accounting, including 3+ years experience in progressively responsible supervisory/management positions
•   CPA preferred.
•   Public accounting background preferred.
•   Overall understanding and experience in application of US GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements including financial statements and financial statement footnotes.
•   External and internal audit/SOX compliance.
•   Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles.
•   Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situations.
•   Ability to independently research complex accounting transactions/issues.
•   Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team.
•   Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
•   Comfort in drawing upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
