Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a growing local leader in the construction/services industry to find an Accounting Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic company and manage the accounting operations within a well-established business. In this role, you will work directly with the CFO as their right-hand, overseeing other members of the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing key insights to support strategic decision-making.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management.
- Prepare and review monthly/quarterly financial statements and budget comparisons.
- Manage month-end/year-end closings, ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning with the CFO.
- Ensure tax compliance, audits, and develop internal controls for accurate reporting.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
