About the roleWe are recruiting for an exciting opportunity at a leading company in the finance sector, looking to bring on an experienced Accounting Manager to lead critical functions within their General Ledger accounting team. This hybrid position offers the chance to significantly impact the month-end close process and manage a dedicated team of accountants while optimizing workflows for scalability and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Manage and actively participate in the month-end close and reporting process, adhering to the reporting calendar.
- Supervise the work of accountants, ensuring quality and accuracy in journal entries and reconciliations.
- Review, analyze, and approve General Ledger transactions.
- Oversee balance sheet account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review additional supporting schedules.
- Maintain and update procedural documents for process improvements.
- Support audits by providing materials and liaising with auditors.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement and make actionable recommendations.
Requirements
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Philadelphia, PA; Waltham, MA; Baltimore, MD; or Riverwoods, IL.
- Must have 7-9 years of previous accounting/audit experience and 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency with major ERP systems such as SAP, Great Plains, NetSuite.
- Experience with Blackline and strong knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
Preferred skills
- International accounting experience.
- CPA certification or progress towards CPA certification.
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable/Receivable processes.
- Advanced degree in Accounting (eg, MS in Accounting).
- Project management skills.
