We are People with a Passion for Building and if you are too, we'd love to hear from you. MCC is seeking an experienced Accounting & Contracts Manager to join our team, working from our Hercules, CA office.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Create and maintain project financial reporting, using Sage Contractor accounting software, including but not limited to project setup, job costing, job cost reporting, etc.
  • Generate and submit monthly owner pay applications in collaboration with project management team
  • Work with project management team to validate subcontractor and vendor invoices
  • Perform general ledger accounting and maintain WIP (Work in Progress Schedule) for quarterly reporting to our CPA firm
  • Assist preconstruction team with required financial information for proposals and prequalifications
  • Collaborate with project management team to assemble cost-plus and T&M billing packages
  • Lead general AR/AP efforts
  • Lead payroll efforts, including certified payroll and reporting as required to the applicable labor union for craft labor employees
  • Maintain required insurance policies in collaboration with our broker of record
  • Maintain fleet vehicle registration
  • Collaborate with project management team to execute prime contracts and contract change orders as well as issuing subcontracts and vendor PO's
  • Administer and maintain annual master subcontract agreements between MCC and subcontractor trade partners
  • Track insurance and bond requirements for MCC and subcontractors

Qualifications & Requirements


  • 5+ years experience in construction accounting and contracts
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience & training)
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to review detailed financial information and discern and correct discrepancies and inaccuracies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers
