Accounting Clerk
Full-Time, Hybrid - Waukesha, Wisconsin
Job Summary
Edcetera is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Clerk to assist with day-to-day accounting needs. The candidate will need to be a self-starter who is detail-oriented and very organized. The daily duties of this role include assisting with recording of financial transactions, completion of reconciliations, and additional support items.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Create new vendors and obtain necessary forms for 1099 purposes.
- Enter vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval assignments in
- Schedule and process payments on a timely basis (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare the monthly accounts payable aging reconciliation.
- Create 1099's at year-end.
Accounts Receivable
- Create and send customer invoices in QuickBooks in a timely manner.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Process incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit card) and apply to appropriate accounts.
- Complete any customer vendor form requests in a timely manner.
- Work with the sales representatives to resolve any customer invoicing discrepancies.
General Accounting
- Update merchant deposit workbooks and enter / match deposits into QuickBooks.
- Reconcile certain balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as requested.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in general accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Adept at working cross-functionally to deliver results
Compensation
- Starting pay at $50,000 annually, commensurate on experience
